Sukhum. October 12. Apsnypress. The 41st round of the International Geneva Discussions took place on October 10-11.
In the course of the round, the parties continued their discussion of the joint oral statement on the non-use of force. Unfortunately, once again the parties failed to agree on a compromise version of the text of this oral statement, which would be acceptable to all participants in the Geneva discussions. The parties were asked to prepare alternative versions of the text of the statement and continue its discussion on the next round.
Within the framework of the discussion of humanitarian issues, the Abkhaz side paid special attention to the need to take operative measures aimed at combating the marble bug, whose invasion threatens to cause serious damage to agricultural crops cultivated in Abkhazia. Foreign Minister of Abkhazia Daur Kove called the co-chairs of the International Geneva discussions to pay special attention to this environmental problem and provide the necessary international support in the fight against this pest.
Participants agreed to hold the next round on December 12-13, 2017.
