Bashar al-Assad received the Ambassador of Abkhazia to Syria Bagrat Khutaba

Khutaba presented his credentials to Bashar al-Assad.

 Sukhum. July 29. Apsnypress. President of the Syrian Arab Republic Bashar al-Assad received Bagrat Khutaba, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Syrian Arab Republic, at the presidential palace on July 28.

There was held a ceremony of presenting credentials at the reception. Syrian President Bashar al-Assad expressed his respect to President of Abkhazia Aslan Bzhaniya and wished the entire Abkhaz people peace and prosperity.

In turn, Ambassador conveyed greetings on behalf of President of Abkhazia Aslan Bzhaniya, and also stressed that establishment of the Embassy of the Republic of Abkhazia in the Syrian Arab Republic is a historic event and an important step in development and strengthening of relations between the two countries.

President of Syria and Ambassador of Abkhazia discussed issues of bilateral cooperation between friendly states in various fields, such as economy, culture, tourism and sports.

The meeting was also attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Affairs of Compatriots Abroad of the SAR Walid al-Muallem, Minister of Presidential Affairs of the SAR Mansur Azzam and the Counselor of the RA Embassy in the SAR Janbo Agrba.
