Prime Minister Alexander Ankvab met with the Abkhaz-Russian working group for monitoring the state of the financial system of Abkhazia

The targeted use of Russian financial aid is also subject to monitoring.

Sukhum. July 28, 2020. Apsnypress. Prime Minister Alexander Ankvab met with members of the working group on joint comprehensive monitoring of the state of the republic's financial system and targeted use of Russian financial aid.

 The arrived Russian part of the working group includes representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Justice, the Treasury of Russia, the Bank of Russia, and Rosreestr. The working group is headed by Aleksey Sukhov, Director of the Department of Special Programs and Projects of the Ministry of Economic Development.

 Alexander Ankvab greeted the meeting participants and spoke about the situation with coronavirus infection in the republic, about the indicators of the economic situation against the background of measures and restrictions taken by the Abkhaz government.

 “Experts characterize the current epidemiological situation in Abkhazia as favorable. The resulting foci were successfully localized. At the moment, 10 citizens are undergoing treatment. There were taken various measures in Abkhazia: a state of emergency was introduced, a curfew was announced in two regions. The restrictions have severely affected all sectors of the economy. We are taking measures to optimize the expenditures of the country's budget. This allowed, with delays, but to finance the social sphere, healthcare and other sectors, ” Ankvab said.

In turn, Alexey Sukhov thanking for the reception, spoke about the plans of the working group.

“We arrived here in accordance with decision of the co-chairman of the Russian-Abkhaz Intergovernmental Commission on Social and Economic Cooperation in order to look at the situation with you and work out some issues. All my colleagues are set to work so that we have the opportunity to draw up an objective report to our management. We would like to visit the most significant objects that are included in Investment Program. Today we will start working in the Ministry of Finance, Treasury, National Bank, Ministry of Economy, ” Sukhov said.
