Aslan Bzhaniya: All restrictions that have been in effect on the Abkhaz-Russian border for four months have been lifted

President made an appeal to the citizens of Abkhazia in connection with border opening.

Sukhum. August 1, 2020. Apsnypress. President of Abkhazia, Aslan Bzhaniya, signed on Saturday, August 1, the order on the withdrawal of limited restrictions imposed in connection with coronavirus infection.

 In accordance with document, the state border of the Republic of Abkhazia with the Russian Federation is open.

The Head of State made an appeal to the citizens of the republic in connection with border opening.

 “Dear compatriots!

By agreement of the leadership of the Republic of Abkhazia and the Russian Federation, the state border between our friendly countries has been open from today. All restrictions that have been in effect for four months have been removed. We are grateful to the leadership of Russia for their decision, which will undoubtedly have a positive effect on the economic situation in the country.

 After Coordination Headquarters for protection of population of the Republic of Abkhazia made an appropriate decision, I signed an order to lift all restrictions from the Abkhaz side on the Russian-Abkhaz state border.

Dear compatriots, I am asking you to take precautions and follow sanitary and epidemiological requirements. The danger posed by this insidious disease should not be neglected. Precautions must be observed in everyday life, in all institutions, in kindergartens, schools, hotels, rest homes and boarding houses. I instructed the heads of administrations of cities and regions of Abkhazia to keep the issue under special control. The life and health of our citizens are the highest value for the state. I wish you all health and well-being. "
