Abkhazia and the Crimea agreed on cooperation in a number of areas

The first meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission of the Republic of Abkhazia and the Republic of Crimea was held in the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Abkhazia.

 Sukhum. 15 November. Apsnypress. The agenda of the meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission of the Republic of Abkhazia and the Republic of Crimea includes a discussion of the plan of activities and the rules of work of the Commission, as well as the composition of working groups. 
 
 According to the report, the parties approved the Regulations of the Joint Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Humanitarian Cooperation, discussed promising and priority areas of cooperation.
 
 The members of the commission noted that the result of negotiations of working groups should be a positive trend in development of trade and economic joint projects and stressed the need to establish an active exchange of experience in other areas of mutual interests: in the field of culture and the protection of cultural heritage, tourism, education and science, public relations.  
 
In addition, in the sphere of trade and economic cooperation the meeting participants discussed the provision of assistance in organizing supplies from the Republic of Crimea to the Republic of Abkhazia of agricultural products and foodstuffs, industrial goods, ships and vessels of various purposes. From the Republic of Abkhazia to the Republic of Crimea — grains of maize, fruits, including citrus crops, vegetable oil, drinking water, soft drinks, other food products, and competitive building materials from Abkhaz producers.
 
 The parties also reaffirmed the need to study priority investment directions in the field of aquaculture and effective management of aquatic bioresources.
 
 In the field of agriculture the members of the relevant working group discussed the possibility of the participation of the Republic of Abkhazia in specialized exhibition of agricultural technologies "AgroExpoKrym-2019".
 
 In the field of industry the parties considered the possibility of organizing ship repair in Abkhazia by the forces of shipbuilding and ship repair plants of the Republic of Crimea.
 
 In the field of transport the participants of the working groups will prepare proposals on the organization of maritime freight and passenger traffic between Crimea and Abkhazia, as well as on the organization of logistic schemes for transportation between countries.
 
 In addition, within the framework of the adopted Action Plan for Cooperation, the participation of teachers of the Abkhaz State University in the scientific and practical conference “January Pedagogical Readings: Distance Education and Trends in its Development” on the basis of the Crimean Engineering and Pedagogical University, as well as the possibility of concluding an Agreement on Cooperation between ASU and GBOUVO RK "Crimean Engineering and Pedagogical University" for the exchange of experience on the implementation of educational standards of higher education, the exchange of delegations of students and teachers.
 
 In the field of physical culture and sports the meeting participants noted the need for joint training sessions for sports teams of the two countries in Greek-Roman and free-style wrestling, and also discussed organizing a regular exchange of teams of coaching and teaching staff and other categories of sports workers.
 
 In the field of culture and cultural heritage the parties supported the desire to intensify the development of joint projects, including assistance in organizing exchange tours of theaters and professional creative teams of the two republics.
 
 In the field of tourism representatives of the Intergovernmental Commission agreed on the involvement of representatives of tourism industry of Abkhazia to participate in the Open Crimea Forum and the All-Russian Congress on therapeutic tourism in the Crimea, as well as in exhibitions and fairs in the Republic of Crimea and the Republic of Abkhazia.
 
 The parties noted the need for the participation of representatives of Abkhaz public and youth organizations in the annual international conference “Crimea in the modern international context”, assistance in establishing sisterly relations and concluding relevant agreements between the towns of the Republic of Abkhazia and the Republic of Crimea, as well as participation of youth delegation of Abkhazia in the Youth Forum Native Harbor, in the Forum of Leaders of Youth Organizations and Movements “The Russian Word: From the Beginning to the Renaissance”, the participation of delegates and Youth of the Republic of Crimea in the International Military Field patriotic camp "Young Abkhazia".
