"In this law should be described the status of plants, which are subject to strict protection and lists penalties for illegal collection. Today in Abkhazia there is the Red Book, but we have prepared a list of plants that will have to enter it", - said Tchitanava.

In the near future, the head of the Committee plans to ask the government to the establishment of the editorial board for the compilation of the Red Book. "Then we can go directly to questions of publication", - he said.

In winter, begins to bloom in Abkhazia group of plants primroses, many species are in need of protection and to conduct public campaigns to protect them. These include, in addition to the Abkhazian cyclamen, snowdrops - "Voronov", "Caucasian", "Valentina", "Krasnov", Proleski (Scilla), Star of Bethlehem and the hellebore. Measures for the protection of these species should be limited to the prohibition on the export of their collection.
