According to statistics from Ministry of Emergencies, voiced at a press conference in 2014 was recorded 1328 incidents, although travel to places rescuers had much more - 4,470 times. Of the total number of accidents of fires - 849, the material damage caused by them amounted to approximately 28,748,880 rubles.

At the same time, staff numbers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations is 532 people. On guard of fire safety are 10 fire and rescue units and 2 SS unit, which is armed with 37 units of fire equipment. In addition, FEMA has 10 units of rescue equipment and 8 units of water spassredstv.

For the entire 2014 was 31 incident on the water, 192 accidents, eliminated 127 natural disasters, conducted 47 search and rescue operations, opening 611 jammed elevators, cleared 22 chemicals, 87 cases received medical and psychological assistance. Died in fires last year - 15 people, drowned - 14 (10 of them - the citizens of the Russian Federation), rescued - 82 people.

However, according to the Minister of RA Emergency Leon Kvitsiniya, there is a problem on which we must work. So, in his opinion, in order to prevent fires and other accidents involving the human factor, it is necessary to toughen penalties. For example, for failure to comply with fire safety they currently account for only 300 rubles for individuals and 600 rubles - for businesses. Appropriate proposals have been submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Abkhazia. And also a lot of work for the organization and inspection of bathing areas in anticipation of the beach season, which this year promises to be very active. In addition, the high hopes in the MES are laid on joint exercises with Russia, which, according to plan, will be held in May and one of the autumn months of this year.
