Acting President of Abkhazia addressed to Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the RA

Valery Bganba drew the Ambassador’s attention to actions of a number of Russian media that disseminated information about the poisoning of deputy of Parliament, presidential candidate Aslan Bzhaniya.

Sukhum. March 4. Apsnypress. Acting President of the Republic of Abkhazia Valery Bganba met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Abkhazia Alexey Dvinyanin.
 
 Valery Bganba addressed Alexey Dvinyanin with a speech:
 
 “Mr. Ambassador!
 
 I want to draw your attention to actions of a number of mass media of the Russian Federation, including state ones, which disseminated information about the poisoning of deputy of the National Assembly of Parliament of the Republic of Abkhazia, presidential candidate Aslan Georgievich Bzhaniya with reference to anonymous sources.
 
 We regard this as an undisguised attempt to destabilize the socio-political situation in the Republic of Abkhazia, which could lead to civil confrontation.
 
 The leadership of the Republic of Abkhazia requires:
 
 1. Immediately transmit to investigating group of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Abkhazia all available facts in these publications, medical reports for pre-investigation checks;
 
 2. The Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation to institute criminal proceedings on the fact of alleged poisoning of a deputy of Parliament of the Republic of Abkhazia, presidential candidate, citizen of the Republic of Abkhazia and the Russian Federation Bzhaniya A. G. on the territory of the Russian Federation.
 
 Failure to comply with our requirements will be regarded as an unfriendly act in relation to the Republic of Abkhazia and reserve the right to action to protect the sovereignty and citizens of the Republic of Abkhazia. ”
