Adgur Ardzinba: since the beginning of the forum in 2009, the trade turnover between Abkhazia and Russia has increased 3.5 times

The VIII Abkhaz-Russian Business Forum is taking place in Sukhum.

Following the results of the Plenary Session of the VIII Abkhaz-Russian Business Forum, Minister of Economy of Abkhazia Adgur Ardzinba and Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation - Head of the Federal Agency for State Property Management Dmitry Pristankov told about the topical issues on the agenda at a press conference.

 As Adgur Ardzinba noted: "The VIII Abkhaz-Russian business forum is very interesting. This year on the agenda - the development of agriculture, tourism, promotion of trade and economic relations, the development of small and medium-sized enterprises in the context of cooperation between Abkhazia and Russia. In general, the forum showed great interest on the part of Russian colleagues. Very representative delegations from different regions of the Russian Federation came to visit us. A great emphasis in discussions is on the development of entrepreneurship with investment activity. "
  
 Ardzinba cited statistics of bilateral cooperation: "Since the beginning of the forum in 2009, the trade turnover of our countries has increased 3.5 times, the export of Abkhazian products to Russia has increased 3.2 times, only the volume of planned supplies to the Russian market of inert materials reaches 600 thousand, the share of the Russian Federation in the foreign trade turnover of the Republic of Abkhazia exceeded 70%. And this is only the beginning! "
  
 For his part, Dmitry Pristankov stressed: "This forum is an ideal platform for exchange of views. Within the framework of the forum, we are planning today to familiarize ourselves with specific production projects that were implemented with the involvement of Russian investments. It is very interesting. I hope that the forum will be held for many more years, our cooperation is not limited to any time frames. This is a tremendous potential for communication. There are a lot of talented people who want to start their own business in Abkhazia and in Russia. Every year we need to look for these talents. People, sometimes, just do not have the opportunity to discuss their ideas with the business community. A forum is exactly the platform where absolutely everyone is equal in rights and can tell about his plans. For our part, we are ready to support initiatives at the level of business communities."
