Agreement on mutual visa-free trips of citizens between Abkhazia and South Ossetia

Sukhum. August 18. Apsnypress. During the meeting, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia Viacheslav Chirikba and Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia Kazbula Tskhovrebov were also discussed some issues of cooperation and prospects for expanding official contacts. The ministers signed a Plan of Consultations between the foreign ministries for 2015-2016 years. 

Further, the delegation met with the President of the Republic of South Ossetia Leonid Tibilov. Tibilov stressed the symbolism of this visit on the eve of the anniversary of the recognition of Abkhazia and South Ossetia by the Russian Federation, noted the focus of the meeting on the strengthening of relations between states. Chirikba thanked the President for the warm welcome and noted the common destiny of the peoples of Abkhazia and South Ossetia. He also expressed confidence in further progressive development and comprehensive strengthening of relations between our states. 

After the meeting, foreign ministers of Abkhazia and South Ossetia signed the Agreement between the governments of Abkhazia and South Ossetia on mutual visa-free trips of citizens of Abkhazia and South Ossetia. 

Also during the visit was a meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Abkhazia in South Ossetia Alan Elbakiev, during which Ambassador informed the delegation about the work and plans for future activities of the Embassy. 

The visit of the delegation of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia in the Republic of South Ossetia continues. 

The Abkhaz Foreign Ministry delegation headed by Vyacheslav Chirikba includes Deputy Foreign Minister Oleg Arshba and Head of the department of the Russian Federation, the CIS, South Ossetia, Transnistria and Nagorno-Karabakh Adgur Chegiya.
