Alexander Ankvab and Beslan Barateliya discussed the situation in the banking sector

Prime Minister met with Chairman of the National Bank of Abkhazia in the Cabinet of Ministers.

Sukhum. May 18. Apsnypress. Prime Minister of the Republic of Abkhazia Alexander Ankvab met with Chairman of the National Bank of the Republic of Abkhazia Beslan Barateliya on the situation in the banking sector.
 
 Chairman of the National Bank told about the state of affairs in the banking system of the republic under prevailing factors of threat to economic security, about liquidity in the banks of Abkhazia, about indicators of cash withdrawal in districts, terms of pension accruals, etc.
 
 “If we talk about the processes that took place in the previous two months, then today the situation has relatively stabilized. A tremendous amount of funds was withdrawn. The banking system coped with difficulties. According to results of March, 1 billion 300 million rubles were withdrawn, and according to the results of April - 1 billion 100 million. It turns out, in 2 months - 2 billion 400 million rubles, this is 40-45% more than for the same period of the previous year. In May, the situation stabilized, especially in the last 10 days. This, in my opinion, is connected with the weakening of quarantine measures, the revival of entrepreneurial activity. ”
 
 Next, Head of Government and Chairman of the National Bank discussed the issues of calculating pensions for its recipients.
 
 Barateliya reported that yesterday the funds arrived in settlement accounts of pension recipients in Sukhum, a significant part of the total amount of payments in the capital has been cashed out in Sukhum for today.
 
  Head of the National Bank cited data on the results of banks' work with customers regarding restructuring of loans subject to the unstable financial situation of the borrower.
 
 Barateliya noted that the banks of Abkhazia have been given the opportunity by the National Bank to independently decide on an application for a deferred loan repayment without contacting the supervisory board of the National Bank.
 
 According to Barateliya, requests and appeals have been satisfied for all applicants for deferral of borrowers.
 
 In addition, Alexander Ankvab and Beslan Barateliya discussed compliance with sanitary and epidemiological safety standards at bank offices, at ATMs in Abkhazia, etc.
