Appeal of the People's Assembly of the Parliament to the people of the Republic of Abkhazia

The parliament held an extraordinary meeting of the session on Thursday, October 22, at which passed a resolution in response to the appeal of the VI extraordinary congress of the political party "Amtsakhara" demanded from the deputies calling of early presidential elections.
Sukhum. October 22. Apsnypress. In connection with the appeal of the VI extraordinary congress of the political party Amtsakhara on 21 of October 2015, demanding that the People's Assembly of the Abkhazia parliament must call an early election of the President of Abkhazia, the Parliament of Abkhazia appealed to the people of the Republic of Abkhazia.
"In accordance with Part 1 of Article 67 of the Constitution of the Republic of Abkhazia, as well as paragraph 2 of Article 6 of the Constitutional Law of the Republic of Abkhazia on " Election of the President of the Republic of Abkhazia ", National Assembly of the Parliament of the Republic of Abkhazia made a decision on May 31, 2014, number 3520-a-V, for early elections to resolve the political tension in the country, directly affecting the security of the country, its citizens and the preservation of the statehood of Abkhazia.
In the last elections of the President of the Republic of Abkhazia on Aug. 24, 2014 the first round was won by R. Khadjimba. All the political forces of the Republic of Abkhazia, who participated in these elections, recognized the results, confirming the legitimacy of the election campaign, which excludes the validity of the claims of the extraordinary congress of the political party Amtsakhara on the need to appoint Parliament early elections.
The People's Assembly of The Parliament of the Republic of Abkhazia, as a legislative body representing the interests of all the people of Abkhazia, using constitutional authority considers it necessary to abandon the political rhetoric, the consequences of which could lead to an imbalance of powers, destabilizing the social and political situation and the negative impact on the basis of the sovereignty and statehood of the Republic of Abkhazia .
Given the complexity of challenges facing by our country, realizing the importance of and the need for consolidation of all the people of Abkhazia, call on the leadership of the country, social and political forces to engage in constructive dialogue, understanding and mutual respect in order to preserve national harmony and stability in the country".
