April 30 - Day of the Frontier Department of the Federal Security Service of Russia in the Republic of Abkhazia

Sukhum. April 30. Apsnypress. The agreement was aimed at strengthening the state border of the Republic of Abkhazia with Georgia, the sovereignty and independence of the new republic. The same day, on the territory of Abkhazia were deployed Border Service of Russia. 

Thus, April 30, 2009 is considered as the day of formation of the border department of the FSB of Russia in the Republic of Abkhazia. 

Of six years of service, for a violation of the state border detained more than 12,800 people, about 1,030 units of vehicles, were not allowed more than 810 cases of illegal movement across the state border of Georgia and goods outside the checkpoint. For violations of the border regime detained about 1,740 people, in the sea area over the 170 units of small swimming facilities. 

On April 30, 2015 in the border management was held a solemn meeting devoted to the sixth anniversary of its formation. The event was attended by the management and staff of the Border Guard Department, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Abkhazia Semyon Grigoriev, Chairman of the State Security Service of Abkhazia Major-General Zurab Margania, chairman of the public organization of the veterans of the Border Control Border Guard retired lieutenant colonel Pavel Mochalov. 

The event ended with the presentation of the state and departmental awards and congratulation of the children of employees of the Office.
