Arthur Mikvabia: Government is aware of the importance of science in the country

Sukhum. June 30. Apsnypress. Director of the Abkhazian Institute of Humanitarian Studies Vasily Avidzba during a meeting told about most acute problems of the Institute. 

"There are many projects of construction of the new building of the Institute. But, unfortunately, repairs are not included in a comprehensive plan even though nothing has changed since 1994. Total wage of a researcher - 6500 rubles. Despite the current situation, the team consults with its statutory duties. Since 2002, were protected 11 master's theses, 8 historical and 3 philological sciences. Since 1994 - 5 doctoral theses, 3 historical, 2 philological", - said Avidzba. 

According to him, new charter of ANA has been discussed, and the latest version is copied by the Russian Academy of Sciences of the charter. He believes that the head of the Institute must be a member of the government of Abkhazia. 

"ABiGI has played a major role in the development of the state. I have heard your issues. It is necessary to create a group of your employees, which will help to restore the old work of the Institute. And we will try to create the necessary conditions for this. Government is aware of the importance of science in the country ", - said Arthur Mikvabia. 

The meeting also discussed the issues of young employees with housing. "Young people start to get a job in our Institute. Given the meager wages and non investment in housing, young workers can retire. We ask you to help them", - said Suram Sakaniya.    

At the end of the meeting it was decided to establish a commission under the Government of the Republic of Abkhazia, which will include representatives of the government and the ABiGi to address the pressing issues of the Institute.
