Arthur Mikvabiya: we look forward to closer cooperation with the Rostov region

At the meeting, held in Rostov-on-Don, RA Prime Minister Artur Mikvabiya discussed issues of bilateral cooperation with Governor of Rostov Region Vasily Golubev.

Apsnypress. In the bilateral meeting, which took place in Rostov-on-Don, the RA Prime Minister Arthur Mikvabiya stressed the interest of Abkhazia in strengthening business and cultural ties with Rostov. "We know that the Rostov region is a strong region, and rejoice your successes. We hope for closer cooperation ", - said Arthur Mikvabiya.
 
 According to Prime Minister, Abkhazia is ready to develop contacts with industrial and agricultural enterprises of the region, creative groups, educational organizations. At the same time Abkhazia is waiting for inhabitants of Rostov region to visit the resorts of the republic.
 
 For his part, Governor of Rostov Region Vasily Golubev said that there is need to strengthen the dynamics of bilateral cooperation. There can be broad field of activity, in his view: from the increase in trade between the Don and Abkhazia, to building of cultural and tourist relations, cooperation in the field of education. "To make our ties in business, culture, education and humanitarian spheres further developed, it is necessary in the near future to determine the terms and procedure for the exchange of delegations", - said Vasily Golubev. For this the Governor instructed to create a working group to prepare specific proposals. And first among them should be the business invitation for cooperation.
 
 The foreign trade turnover of the Rostov region with the Republic of Abkhazia was 27.3 million dollars at the end of 2015. This region of Russia receives from Abkhazia food products and raw materials for their production (80 million US dollars), mineral products (10 thousand dollars). The Rostov region exports to Abkhazia tobacco, manufactured tobacco substitutes (US $ 12.8 million), chemical products (US $ 8.4 million), ferrous and nonferrous metals (1.5 million dollars), engineering products (1.3 million dollars).
