Republican public organization of veterans of the War of Abkhazia "Arua" issued a statement on the fact of the trip of Abkhaz citizens to Tbilisi for a football match on August 11.
Sukhum. August 13. Apsnypress. The statement says:
"The Supreme Council of the Republican public organization of veterans of the War of Abkhazia in 1992 - 1993 "Arua" considers the presence of citizens of Abkhazia at the stadium in Tbilisi on August 11 as a top of cynicism and disrespect for memory of those killed.
We believe that it is a blasphemy to visit it on the eve of the Day of Remembrance and Mourning for the victims of the war. These people are crossing the border without authorization, they did not only violated laws of the Republic of Abkhazia, but also insulted the memory of those who died for freedom of Apsny.
We appeal to the law enforcement authorities with a demand to take adequate measures against trespassers.
The war left many problems - that separated families and other humanitarian concerns, but we are always opposed to trips to the enemy state, even for treatment. But a trip to Georgia to watch a football match is a spit for the entire multinational people of Abkhazia who defined its attitude to the current fascist regime of the Georgian state in August, 1992 ".
