Aslan Bzhaniya on combating crime and corruption: this is the most important problem today

On the meeting of the Head of State with parliamentarians held in the National Assembly of Parliament of the Republic of Abkhazia.

Sukhum. 2 June. Apsnypress. At a meeting with parliamentarians, President of Abkhazia Aslan Bzhaniya spoke about the results of bilateral negotiations in Moscow.

According to Bzhaniya, there were discussed a number of issues. So, at a meeting in Moscow, they talked about reforming the energy industry. The question was raised in connection with the appeal of Raul Khadzhimba to the Russian side to assist in the flow of electricity in 2017. The Russian side was interested in the position of Abkhazia in this problem. “Now we are raising all the documents on this issue, the Parliament will be informed,” President explained.

The Head of State paid special attention to the fight against crime and corruption in the country and spoke about the discussion of these issues with the Russian side: “Our colleagues are interested in a list of necessary practical measures and regulations to organize an effective fight against organized crime and corruption. In this regard, I would ask you, dear colleagues, to pay attention to several bills to which I was involved. These are draft laws “On Amending Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Abkhazia on Anti-Corruption Issues”, “On the Procedure for Transport Services of Public Servants and Deputies”, “On Public Procurement”. Of course, these bills need to be finalized. In addition, I would ask you to raise and study the package of laws on combating organized crime. ”

Aslan Bzhaniya expressed his position on the problem of combating crime: “The 21st century is on the street! There should not be any "watching"! This is counterproductive! The country and people do not need this, let them go in for sports, science, art. People are waiting for appropriate approaches from us. I do not urge anyone to cut off their heads. If we do not solve one problem, it gives rise to another, then a lump grows, which can threaten the security of the population. You noticed how many weapons people have? Not just a gunshot, but special ones. Who needs it in the conditions of Abkhazia,? This is the most important issue today. Law enforcement needs help. ”

Also, Aslan Bzhaniya informed the deputies about the reached agreements with the Russian side on financial assistance: “As part of our last trip to Moscow, we asked the Russian side to provide us with financial assistance. Since, only in April, the revenue side of our budget did not get 207 million rubles. I report to you that the Russian side has gone forward, and the money that falls out of our budget will be replenished to us. We agreed that the Russian side will provide assistance for amount that is lost this year. It's about salaries and retirement benefits. ”
