Aslan Bzhaniya took his office as President of Abkhazia

The inauguration ceremony of the elected President of Abkhazia Aslan Bzhaniya was held in the Presidential Administration.

Sukhum. April 23. Apsnypress. The inauguration ceremony of Aslan Georgievich Bzhaniya for assumption of office of President of the Republic of Abkhazia was held in Sukhum.
 
 The ceremony was attended by representatives of the legislative, executive, and judicial branches of government, members of the CEC, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Abkhazia Aleksey Dvinyanin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Ossetia to the Republic of Abkhazia Oleg Botsiev, head of the official Representative Office of the Transdniestrian Moldavian Republic in the Republic of Abkhazia Harry Kupalba.
 
 Opening the inauguration ceremony acting RA President Valery Bganba noted:  “The extraordinary elections held in March of this year were preceded by serious political events that led to the resignation of the former leadership of the country, to a surge of political tension and confrontation in society. However, thanks to the activities of the deputy corps, the work of the Government and all political forces of the country, they managed to turn the situation into a legal channel.
 
 I also thank all the presidential candidates for the fact that the entire electoral process has passed in strict accordance with the laws. At the same time, all participants in the electoral process showed tact, respectful attitude to each other, and their congratulations to the elected President were sincere and warm.
 
 All this gives great hope for the fulfillment of the main request of our people - the request for the unification of society and stability. Only in this way will we be able to continue the country's development course, strengthen the good attitude of friends towards it, and make those who are still not accustomed to the independent development of Abkhazia think about it.
 
 I am sure that the goals and objectives that society sets for the state will be honorably fulfilled by President-elect Aslan Georgievich Bzhaniya. ”
 
 The elected President of the Republic of Abkhazia, Aslan Bzhaniya, in the presence of judges of Constitutional Court, laying his hand on the text of the Constitution of the Republic of Abkhazia took an oath to the people of Abkhazia in Abkhaz language:
 
 “I swear to the multinational people of Abkhazia that I will exert my knowledge and strength in the name of well-being, peace and tranquility. I will strictly follow the requirements of the Constitution of the Republic of Abkhazia, act as a guarantor of its rigorous enforcement by the authorities, respect for the rights and freedoms of all citizens of the republic. ”
 
 After taking the oath, the National Anthem of the Republic of Abkhazia was performed. Further, acting President Valery Bganba officially handed over elected President Aslan Bzhaniya the attributes of the presidency - a seal with the state emblem of the Republic of Abkhazia and the inscription “President of the Republic of Abkhazia”, as well as the President’s standard, a checker symbolizing the role of the President as commander in chief and the national Abkhaz staff as a symbol of wisdom and excerpts.
 
 Valery Bganba gave the floor to President of Abkhazia Aslan Bzhaniya:
 
 “Dear deputies of the National Assembly of the Republic of Abkhazia, judges of the Constitutional Court, invited!
 
 Dear friends! The course of the election campaign, its completion gives hope that a new political culture is emerging in our country. In this regard, I would like to thank the presidential candidates. I look forward to working with them in terms of counteracting political extremism and other threats facing the state, and on activities aimed at transforming and strengthening key state institutions within which the preservation and sustainable development of the people of Abkhazia is possible. This is our main goal!
 
 For this purpose, the best sons and daughters of Abkhazia gave their lives. Vladislav Ardzinba and Sergey Bagapsh dedicated their mission to this. I hope that the forthcoming work to achieve this goal will contribute to social harmony.
 
 One of the primary tasks for me, as the Head of State, is to restore public confidence in the authorities. Such a result can only be achieved by working honestly and openly.
 
 Everyone who will be invited to work in the executive branch is obliged to understand that the position of a minister, head of a government body is not a privilege, but a high responsibility to citizens of the country.
 
 First of all, they must demonstrate to society unconditional adherence to principles of legality and the equality of all before the law!
 
We are aware of difficult times we are entering into. This obliges us without wasting time to get to work. If one of the leaders fails to cope with the assigned task or tries to use his official position for purposes contrary to the interests of citizens, then we will say goodbye to such an employee without regret, regardless of any previous merits. And if there is a corpus delicti and proof of guilt in his actions, the principle of the inevitability of punishment must be fully implemented.
 
 During the election campaign, I repeatedly emphasized that we do not promise an instant improvement in the lives of citizens. Tomorrow there will be no general prosperity, tomorrow there will be work, hard and painstaking. At this stage, maximum efforts must be made to localize the consequences of numerous threats, including such as organized crime and its integral part - corruption.
 
 Without the rule of law and ensuring the safety of citizens it is impossible to create the conditions for economic development and attracting investments.
 
 The trust shown to us in the elections will be used in the implementation of plans to improve the efficiency of state bodies.
 
 Strengthening and developing comprehensive cooperation with our main ally and strategic partner, the Russian Federation, has been and remains a priority area of ​​Abkhazia’s foreign policy.
 
 In accordance with agreements, we will conduct more intensive work with fraternal Russia on all aspects of bilateral, equal and mutually beneficial cooperation.
 
 The regulations of our event do not allow us to dwell in more detail on the current state of the main areas of activity of the state. However, I would like to draw your attention on one of them. 
 
 The worldwide coronavirus pandemic has exposed serious public health problems. Even strong and rich countries were not ready to confront such a large-scale problem.
 
 I express gratitude to the medical workers of Abkhazia, employees of other departments, entrepreneurs for the fact that under these conditions they were able to quickly organize the mobilization of available resources and timely assistance to the population.
 
 The coordinated actions of the branches of government made it possible at this stage to localize the scale of this problem, for which I would like to express my gratitude to them.
 
 Dear friends, it is impossible to cover all areas of the life of the state in one speech. We will make every effort to ensure the activities of the authorities are efficient and transparent.
 
 At the end of my speech I want to thank all, without exception, voters who participated in the presidential election.
 
 I express my gratitude to the Central Election Commission, members of the district and precinct commissions, observers. ”
 
 On behalf of President of Russia Vladimir Putin, leadership of the Russian Federation, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Abkhazia, Alexey Dvinyanin, congratulated Aslan Bzhaniya on assuming the post of President of Abkhazia:

 
 “I express confidence thanks to your political experience, professionalism and wisdom, relations between our countries will continue to develop on the principles of the closest alliance and strategic partnership.
