Avtandil Gartskiya: Abkhazia can receive 500,000 tourists

Minister of Resorts and Tourism of the Republic of Abkhazia Avtandil Gartskiya assured that Abkhazia is ready to accept the increased flow of tourists.

Sukhum. June 24. Apsnypress.  Minister of Resorts and Tourism Avtandil Gartskiya told Apsnypress about the readiness to increase tourist traffic.
 
 According to Gartskiya: “There are up to 25,500 places in accommodation facilities and another 50,000 places in private sector in Abkhazia. This means that during the summer months we can accommodate 500,000 people. High season began a week ago. In comparison with last year, there are much more vacationers. Usually, in total, during the year, we can receive from 900 thousand to 1 million visitors. "
 
 Gartskiya stressed the importance of tourist business for the country's economy: “There is such a thing as“ serve ”and“ accept ”. That is, to serve is to provide communications and infrastructure. The tourism industry includes not only accommodation facilities, but also transport, private sector facilities, food, culture, attractions, etc. Up to 20,000 of our citizens work in the tourism industry and feed their families by it. ”
