Avtandil Gartskiya: rural tourism project to be launched in Abkhazia

The Minister of Resorts and Tourism of Abkhazia Avtandil Gartskiya told about new excursion routes of the summer tourist season-2017.

Sukhum. May 29. Apsnypress. Madina Chagava.  Minister of Resorts and Tourism of the Republic Avtandil Gartskiya informed Apsnypress about new excursion routes on the threshold of the holiday season.
 
 Avtandil Gartskiya said that for the first time it is planned to launch a pilot project of a new tourist destination for Abkhazia - rural tourism. The first such facility will be located in the village of Duripsh, Gudauta district. "Vacationers will be settled in private sector. There are already those wishing to spend their holidays in the villages, because of fresh air, untouched nature, ecologically clean products. A very optimistic fact is that Abkhazian villages are located near towns. A tourist living in the village, can reach the beach in town in about 20 minutes" - the minister said.
 
 In addition, according to Avtandil Gartskiya this year new excursion routes have been created in the villages of Otap, Shubara and in the vicinity of Tkuarchal. "The Shubara tract is located above the village of Kamany. It is an object of natural heritage with picturesque nature and waterfalls, there is an ancient human park. As for Tkuarchal, there are interesting routes to the waterfalls in its vicinity near the villages of Akarmara and Gup, as well as to the radon source. The caves in Otap village are already very well known. Now waterfalls have become another attraction, " - said Gartskiya.
 
As Avtandil Gartskiya noted, the Ministry of Resorts and Tourism is currently engaged in certification of these routes. "We have a security department for tourist routes. The specialists of this department determine how safe this or that excursion direction is. And then, they make decisions about the possibility of using this or that route. The main priority for us is the safety of tourists, " - the minister stressed.
