Banks will pay a penalty for late transfer payments

Sukhum. July 8. Apsnypress. The bill "On Amending the RA Law" On Banks and Banking Activity " was adopted by parliament in the first reading. Introducing the draft Act, a member of the Budget Committee on credit institutions, taxes and finances Anzor Kokoskeriya said: "In recent years, there is an issue of responsibility for violation of the rules of the banks when making payments written off funds from customer accounts. The proposed legislation is aimed at developing a mechanism to protect the interests of customers".  

At the same time, he noted that under the new norms of the legislation, banks will have to pay the corresponding fines from 0.1 to 10% of the funds. 

Similar amendments were approved by the deputies in the bill "On Amending the RA Law" On the basis of the tax system in the Republic of Abkhazia ", proposed in the second reading. According to the chairman of the Budget Committee on credit institutions, Taxes and Finance Georgiy Agrba submitting a bill proposed to increase the rates of fines for banks for each day of delay in tax payments from 0.3 to 1% of the amount of payments. 

As noted previously, check of commercial banks by Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Abkhazia showed that tax payments are often delayed and customers are used as credit resources. And with the current low fines such machinations are profitable for traders. 

Also, when discussing the agenda of the meeting, members submitted for consideration bills "On Health Care" and "On Television and Radio", and suggested the question "On a moratorium on the development (production), hydrocarbons (oil and gas) in the Republic of Abkhazia ". But as a result of voting for the agenda of these additional questions deputies did not take a positive decision. The main reason - failure to comply with the preliminary procedure provided for by the Parliamentary Regulations. Given the importance of these issues, the deputies were in favor of a detailed preliminary study in accordance with the Rules and the further inclusion in the agenda of the next meeting of the session.
