The Coordinating Council of political parties and public organizations of the Republic of Abkhazia issued a statement.
Sukhum. April 8th. Apsnypress. The statement reads in part:
"The article, signed by the former chief builder V. Matua is illegal and provocative, the aim of which is to discredit the President of the Republic.
Moreover, V. Matua in this article allowed himself to insult the honor and dignity of the family of the head of state that is not consistent with either the Abkhaz or the universal concepts of morality.
It is obvious that Mr. Matua is not disturbed with public issues, and the desire to transfer the interest to the person from the criminal to the political plane, mislead citizens to evade responsibility.
The Coordinating Council of political parties and public organizations of the Republic of Abkhazia requires law enforcement agencies to give an objective legal assessments of the statements of V. Matua".
