Ceremony of laying flowers at the memorial to fallen soldiers in Sukhum

Sukhum. August 14. Apsnypress. Flowers and wreaths to the Memorial of Glory in the center of Sukhum laid veterans, President Raul Khadjimba, vice-president Vitaly Gabniya, Prime Minister Artur Mikvabia, Speaker of the Parliament Valery Bganba, deputies, members of the government, the public. 

"The fact that the Abkhazian people survived and proved that they are able to have their own state and to fight for it, the strongest evidence of the spirit of the people. We will never forget those who fell on the battlefields, who gave their lives for freedom and independence", - told "Apsnypress" Prime Minister Artur Mikvabia. He noted that the date of the war accompanied by grief and sorrow, and at the same time on August 14 is the beginning of the formation of the Abkhazian statehood. 

"On this day, we mentally move to the first days of the war, when we still did not think that something terrible was in front, and some small hope remained. It was a terrible anxiety for all mothers, because suddenly our sons at the call of Vladislav Ardzinba stood at the Red Bridge.
