Compatriots from Jordan arrived in Abkhazia

The visit is a part of the project of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Abkhazia "Visit your Motherland".

Sukhum. 24 August. Apsnypress. Within the framework of the project "Abkhaz - visit your Motherland", a group of compatriots from Jordan came to Abkhazia. Among them are businessmen, doctors, military, representatives of law enforcement agencies, and also children. The group of tourists is headed by the representative of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Abkhazia in Jordan, Mr. Ali Bakizh.  At the meeting with the guests, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Tamila Mertskhulava, noted the importance of the visit on the eve of the 10th anniversary of recognition of independence of the Republic of Abkhazia by the Russian Federation and the 25th anniversary of the Victory in the War of Abkhazia of 1992-1993. She noted that Russia's recognition of Abkhazia contributed to development of the republic's economy, a significant increase in exports and imports, and the establishment of trade ties with 30 countries. Separately, President of the CCI noted the recent recognition of Abkhazia by Syria and expressed the hope that soon, and Jordan will make such a step.
  
 The CCI president reminded that the project "Abkhaz - visit your Motherland" was initiated by the ex-president of the CCI of RA, now the prime minister of Abkhazia Gennady Gaguliya back in 2014. The main goal of the project was to draw the attention of the foreign diaspora to Abkhazia and acquaint its representatives with the land of their ancestors, its history, culture and traditions.
  
 Tamila Mertskhulava stressed that there is a large Abkhaz-Adygeian diaspora in Jordan, including five thousand Abkhazians. Only some of them have already visited Abkhazia, so the arrival of such a solid group of Jordanian compatriots is a joyful event. "The project" Abkhaz - visit your Motherland " is a very important for the development of tourism. We hope that after returning home, representatives of the diaspora will tell about what they saw and, and it is not excluded that our republic will be interesting to compatriots not only from a nostalgic point of view, but also economic, " - Mertskhulava said.
 
 For his part, Mr. Ali Bakij said: "Abkhazia is my Motherland, and I have to do everything for its prosperity and popularization. Cooperation with the CCI of Abkhazia is a very honorable mission for me. A lot of work is ahead, I will continue to make efforts to promote joint projects. "
 
 Mr. Ali Bakij said that soon the Abkhazian shopping center will open in the Jordanian capital of Amman. "Currently, the registration of the center is in progress. It will work under the state flag of Abkhazia and sell the products of Abkhaz businessmen, " - the CCI representative in Jordan said.
  
 At the end of the meeting, participants exchanged souvenirs.
