Coordination headquarters for protection of population from coronavirus is considering the introduction of curfews in the country

As well as the introduction of restrictions on movement of citizens during the daytime.

Sukhum. April 1. Apsnypress. The coordination headquarters for protecting the population of the Republic of Abkhazia from coronavirus infection, chaired by acting President of the Republic of Abkhazia Valery Bganba, addressed the citizens of Abkhazia:
 
 “Dear citizens of the Republic of Abkhazia!
 
 As you know, the whole world is affected by the pandemic of the coronavirus infection COVID-19. The total number of cases has already exceeded 800 thousand people. Unfortunately, the mortality rate is high, especially among older people, more than 40 thousand people have died around the world.
 
 Governments of many countries facing the coronavirus pandemic are taking the toughest and most decisive measures to prevent the spread of infection.
 
 These measures change the usual way of life, affect the rights and freedoms of citizens, damage the economy - but they are necessary, because it is the life and health of people is at stake.
 
 The country's leadership has taken preventive measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection in the Republic of Abkhazia, including restrictions on the state border crossing regime, foreign citizens and stateless persons are prohibited from entering the country.
 
 Unfortunately, the daily worsening of the epidemiological situation in the world, a noticeable increase in the number of cases in our neighboring countries, as well as the public’s still unconscious attitude to the threat of coronavirus, compel us to consider the complete ban on crossing the state border (entry / exit), including number, for citizens of the Republic of Abkhazia, with the exception of food and medical transportation.
 
 If in the coming days the intensity of the movement of vehicles and the movement of citizens will not decrease, the Coordination Headquarters for protection of population from coronavirus infection also considers the introduction of curfews throughout the country at night and the introduction of restrictions on the movement of citizens during the day .
 
 We ask all citizens and residents of Abkhazia to treat these restrictive measures with understanding. ”
