XV annual football tournament for the Cup of Rector of MGIMO among teams of embassies was held in Moscow.
Sukhum. June 8. Apsnypress. The team of the Embassy of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Russian Federation for the fifth time participating in these competitions, and twice won the league cup.
Championship on mini-football with the passage of the participated teams was solemnely opened at the MGIMO stadium. The tournament was opened by MGIMO Rector Anatoly Torkunov. In his speech he noted the importance of such international sporting events in the strengthening of cooperation between the countries.
The tournament was attended by 23 teams: the Russian Foreign Ministry, MGIMO, "Snegiri", as well as the embassies of the team - Abkhazia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Venezuela, Vietnam, Germany, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Poland, Romania, Serbia, USA, Spain, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Croatia and Montenegro.
Competition was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia, Igor Akhba. Football team was headed by Counsellor of the Embassy Daur Ajinjal, coach - Yuri Trualev.
The team of the Embassy of the Republic of Abkhazia won silver. In first place was the team of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the third - players of the team of the Embassy of Tajikistan. Abkhaz team player Irakli Hohba was recognized as the best player of the competition.
In finals of the tournament teams were solemnly presented with cups, medals and diplomas.
