Prime Minister Artur Mikvabia held a working meeting on the problems of development of the district.
Sukhum. July 13. Apsnypress. "We need to determine on what issues it is needed to concentrate and coordinate efforts. Only then we can achieve results ", - said Arthur Mikvabia.
Speaking about the economic situation in the district, head of the Administration Temur Nadaraya cited statistics. According to him, Gal district - one of the most depressed in the country, in 2014 its own budget was only 31 million rubles, 70% of the budget - subsidized by the state. At the same time, the region is second to Sukhum on the population density, here on one square kilometer is home to 58 people. Of the more than 30 thousand population - 18 able-bodied, GDP - 107 million rubles, the volume of production of industrial output is 26.5 million rubles, 101.4 million rubles - retail trade turnover, profit - only 5.1 million rubles.
According to him, one of the main problems of the district - the strengthening of the border and the construction of roads. For example, people are more convenient to get to the district center on the territory of Georgia. In the area there are 8 smaller health centers, which are fully provided with medical supplies and equipment from the neighboring state, and medical assistants are appointed by the government, the so-called Abkhaz autonomy. "The region needs a special status. To solve the problem, you need to take the law "On the border Gal district", - said Temur Nadaraya.
Discussing the prospects of development, Prime Minister said that the economic impact in the area can give a small high-tech enterprises. For their development is a quota for loans - 15 million rubles. In the future, this amount will increase. Moreover, "it is necessary to determine which crops can be developed here. For example, before the area was best for growing tea. We hope that now this culture will receive a new impetus to development ", - said Arthur Mikvabia.
According to him, the main source of income in the region today is the cultivation of hazelnut, "but there is no account of where and who carries, what taxes are paid". We have to work according to established rules, there should not be unilateral state aid, it is necessary to build schools, roads and so on. And therefore, we need taxes. The main things are to correctly identify the problem, increase the role of the administration, to understand that we also have to do to make it all work",- said Arthur Mikvabia.
