Gennady Gagulia discussed in the Government of the Russian Federation the issues of socio-economic cooperation between Abkhazia and Russia

Prime Minister of Abkhazia is on a working visit to Moscow.

Sukhum. August 18. Apsnypress. Prime Minister of the Republic of Abkhazia Gennady Gagulia during a visit to Moscow met with Deputy Prime Ministers of the Russian Federation Vitaly Mutko and Alexey Gordeyev. 

During the bilateral meetings were discussed issues of socio-economic cooperation between the Republic of Abkhazia and the Russian Federation.
 
 In particular, Gennady Gagulia at a meeting with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Mutko, discussed the implementation of Investment Program for 2017-2019, as well as the draft of the new Investment Program to Promote the Socio-Economic Development of the Republic of Abkhazia for 2020-2022.
 
 Gennady Gagulia noted that for the successful implementation of the new Investment Program, it is necessary to work out the issues of financing the design works of 2018-2019 already today. At the same time, Gagulia assured that Abkhazia is ready to start developing a new program.
   
 In addition, the parties discussed the possibility of expanding passenger and cargo transportation between Russia and Abkhazia, the modernization of the telecommunications equipment of the Abkhaz State TV and Radio Company and other issues.
  
 At a meeting with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Gordeyev, Gennady Gagulia discussed issues of joint development by the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia and the Ministry of Agriculture of Abkhazia of a three-year program for the development of agriculture and the agro-industrial complex of Abkhazia. Gennady Gagulia noted that taking into account the needs of the Russian market in subtropical cultures such as Abkhazian mandarins, lemons, oranges, kiwis, persimmons, feijoa, nuts, it is necessary to use the export potential of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Russian Federation more widely. In this regard, he stressed that the republic is interested in creating joint Abkhaz-Russian enterprises for processing agricultural products.
   
 The meeting also discussed the possibility of establishing jointly with Rospotrebnadzor a laboratory center on the territory of Abkhazia with subsequent accreditation in the National Accreditation System of Russia and other issues.
