Assistant to Minister of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia, Irakly Tuzhba commented on the resolution of the European Parliament.
Sukhum. June 14. Apsnypress. The European Parliament passed another resolution, in which it declared unconditional support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia, and also demanded that Russia cancel the decision to recognize the independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia. The value of the document was commented by Assistant to Foreign Minister, Irakli Tuzhba:
"Such resolutions of the European Parliament and other European and international structures are already nagging, and extremely biased, dictated only by desire of representatives of Western countries to please any initiative of the Georgian leadership.
In this sense, the resolution of the European Parliament, in which they endlessly appeal to the leadership of Russia to abolish the decision to recognize the independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, is declarative. However, like all other statements and resolutions adopted by European structures with respect to Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
Adoption of such documents is in no way capable of hampering the development of the Abkhaz-Russian strategic partnership aimed at strengthening the socio-economic, military-political and financial potential of the Republic of Abkhazia. "
