There were discussed issues of functioning of agreed regular international bus routes between the countries, the actual operation of which is not being implemented.
Sukhum. July 11. Apsnypress. The session of the Abkhaz-Russian mixed commission on international road transport issues was held at the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Abkhazia. The official website of the department reported.
According to information of head of the State Administration for Transport, Robestan Gablia, the mixed commission was established following the results of the 14th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission for Social and Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Abkhazia and the Russian Federation, held on December 8, 2017 in Sukhum. The first meeting of the mixed commission was held on February 8 and 9 in Moscow.
"Within the framework of the past meetings there were raised issues that need to be discussed for normal functioning of transport connection between Abkhazia and Russia. This is especially true to issue of transferring irregular flights to regular flights, "- said Gabulia.
Minister of Economy Adgur Ardzinba said that in the part of irregular flights Russia annually allocates 11,000 forms of permits to cross the state border, but they are not enough. According to analysis of previous years, the remaining forms of permits will not satisfy the needs of the current year. Therefore, Adgur Ardzinba suggested considering an increase in the limit to 14,000 forms of permits annually.
The Russian side agreed to submit the proposal of the Abkhaz side to the protocol and consider it.
In addition, the meeting discussed functioning of agreed regular international bus routes between countries, the actual operation of which is not carried out.
Also during the meeting there was considered the possibility of creating international bus routes from Abkhazia to Russian cities located at a small distance from the Abkhaz-Russian border.
"A large number of people go to nearby Sochi and other cities for shopping and for leisure. Such routes will be in demand, "- explained Adgur Ardzinba.
Consultations will continue, and on July 12, they will sign a protocol between the parties - head of the State Administration of the Republic of Abkhazia for Transport, Robestan Gablia, and Alexey Dvoinykh, General Director of the Federal Budgetary Agency of the Russian Federation, Rosavtotrans.
