The Movement "Mothers of Abkhazia for peace and social justice" and representatives of the South Ossetian public committee "Memory" discussed the exchange of experiences on the search for missing persons.
"It is very important that you have decided to once again draw attention to such a complex problem as finding missing persons, exhumation and identification of the remains of those killed in the War of Abkhazia", - said the chairman of the Movement "Mothers of Abkhazia for Peace and Social Justice" Guli Kichba.
One of the main tasks in this direction the chairman of the committee "Memory" Lydia Gudzieva called a bank of DNA of the parents of the victims. "Otherwise, if there is no such data it is impossible to identify the remains and to work with graves", - said the guest from South Ossetia.
But in addition to tracing the dead, according to the participants of the meeting, it is necessary to lead and other work - social and psychological rehabilitation of people who take part in the war.
We remind you that in November 2014 the committee "Memory" has already met with the Movement "Mothers of Abkhazia for peace and social justice" for the exchange of experience in search of the missing during the War of Abkhazia in 1992-1993.
At a meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Adzynba and the head of the ICRC mission George Drndarski discussed on search activities missing and required to provide this material. Members of the delegation noted the importance of the experience gained in Abkhazia to conduct investigative activities.
