Kan Kvarchiya: I decided to take no participation in the current election campaign

Kan Kvarchiya issued a statement.

Sukhum. February 11. Apsnypress. Acting head of the Administration of Sukhum Kan Kvarchiya announced that he would not take part in the presidential elections in Abkhazia:
 
 “The current situation in the country indicates a serious split and confrontation among our people.
 
 Every citizen of Abkhazia, from an ordinary resident to a candidate for presidency must do everything in his power in order to overcome the split or, at least, to prevent its further strengthening.
 
 Having analyzed the political and just human relations that have developed in our society, I have decided to take no participation in the current election campaign. This decision is dictated by awareness of the need for my non-participation in the negative processes and the passions that accompany our elections.
 
 I appeal to everyone who was ready to support me - make your conscious choice, which should be dictated by the desire for peace, prosperity and civil harmony in Abkhazia. I will also make my choice on March 22 at the polling station. And today, I and the entire staff of the Administration of Sukhum need to focus on solving everyday tasks to ensure the vital functions of our town, ” said Kan Kvarchiya in his statement.
