The delegation of Abkhazia is on an official visit to the Republic of Nauru.

The delegation of the Republic of Abkhazia led by Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia Daur Kove arrived in the Republic of Nauru to participate in celebration of the 50th anniversary of proclamation of independence. The delegation also includes Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Abkhazia Said Kharazia and Head of the Department for Interaction with International Organizations Arthur Gaguliya.
The delegation of the Republic of Abkhazia was received by President of the Republic of Nauru, Baron Divavesi Vaca.
Said Kharaziya on behalf of the Parliament and all the people of the Republic of Abkhazia congratulated Baron Divavesi Vaca on the anniversary of proclamation of independence of the Republic of Nauru. "The people of the Republic of Abkhazia highly appreciate the decision of the leadership of the Republic of Nauru to recognize the state sovereignty and independence of Abkhazia and will always remember this step. Many kilometers separating our countries do not hamper the strengthening of friendship and bilateral cooperation. We are ready to further develop multifaceted links between the Republic of Abkhazia and the Republic of Nauru, "- said Said Kharazia.
Expressing warm wishes, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of the Parliament of the Republic of Abkhazia thanked President of the Republic of Nauru for the invitation to celebrations and presented memorable gifts.
In addition, within the framework of the visit, the Abkhaz delegation met with representatives of the Christian Catholic community. At the same time, Said Kharaziya congratulated the participants of the meeting on the 50th anniversary of proclamation of independence of the Republic of Nauru and spoke about the history of Christianity in Abkhazia.
At the end of the meeting, the delegation of the Republic of Abkhazia presented the Orthodox icon of the Holy Apostle Simon Kananit to the followers of the Catholic Church living in the Republic of Nauru.
The official visit will last until February 4.
