Konstantin Piliya:Our moral duty is to remember the Armenian Genocide
Today in Sukhum as well as throughout the world remember the victims of the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire.

Sukhum. April 24. Apsnypress. "100-year anniversary of the massacre of the Armenian population is a sad date indicating the importance of preserving historical memory and the need to reckon with the past. And that is very important in our days, this memory should be transferred to the youth, the future generations. Mass extermination and deportation is the most tragic page in the history of the Armenian people. This will not be repeated anywhere, ever", - said in an interview with "Apsnypress" the chairman of the Assembly of Sukhum.

"After the tragic events many Armenians emigrated to Abkhazia. Have grown up a few dozen generations of refugees. Here they found a second home", - said Piliya.
