Sukhum. August 25. Apsnypress. According to the Minister, the governments of Abkhazia and South Ossetia signed an agreement on mutual visa-free trips of citizens of Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
In particular, the delegation from Abkhazia held a series of meetings. Meeting with South Ossetian President Leonid Tibilov and Speaker of Parliament, Anatoly Bibilov, during which they discussed issues of cooperation between the two republics. In addition, there was inaugurated the Embassy of Abkhazia in South Ossetia.
"We are pleased with the outcome of the trip. Now we are developing further legal base between the two countries in various areas of bilateral relations ", - said Vyacheslav Chirikba.
The Minister noted that the signing of the Agreement on visa-free travel is important for our citizens, "This is not just a formal document. There are our compatriots living there. Now we can to travel in two republics by Abkhaz passports . And this is very important because not all citizens of Abkhazia have Russian passports (20%)", - said the Abkhaz FM.
He also stressed that Abkhazia has good prospects to do business with South Ossetia: "They have the products they can offer us, and we - the products for export. Nevertheless, the question of economic relations requires study. There have not been meetings of businessmen of South Ossetia and Abkhazia, but they are necessary in order to understand where we can be helpful to each other", - the minister said.
In addition, according to Chirikba, the two countries scheduled big plans for the development of cultural, economic and other ties.
