List of certain goods manufactured in Turkey in respect of which set a time limit on the import to Abkhazia is approved

Restrictions on certain goods enter from 1 March 2016.

Sukhum. January 19. Apsnypress. The Prime Minister Arthur Mikvabia signed a decree according to which the purpose of the implementation of Article 4 of the Treaty between the Republic of Abkhazia and the Russian Federation on alliance and strategic partnership of 24 November 2014, provides a coordinated foreign policy of the Republic of Abkhazia and the Russian Federation, and pursuant Orders of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Abkhazia on January 11, 2016 № 03-p, prescribed
to establish tha the organizations under the jurisdiction of the Republic of Turkey in the Republic of Abkhazia, as well as entities controlled by citizens of the Turkish Republic and organizations located under the jurisdiction of the Republic of Turkey are forbidden to carry out activities for the implementation of activities under the Investment Program to promote socio-economic development of the Republic of Abkhazia in 2015-2017.

It is temporarily suspended and prohibited to registrate activities on the territory of Abkhazia for non-profit organizations controlled by citizens of the Turkish Republic, and organizations under the jurisdiction of the Republic of Turkey.

Ministry of Justice ordered the Republic of Abkhazia within two months from the signing of the Order to develop and submit to the Cabinet of Ministers of RA draft legislative acts of the Republic of Abkhazia, establishing the legal basis of application of restrictive measures.

Also was approved a list of certain goods manufactured in the Republic of Turkey in respect of which set time limits on the import to Abkhazia from 1 March 2016.

Also The document prescribes to establish that the evidence of country of origin of certain types of goods included in the list, a certificate of origin. Certificate issued by the competent authority of the exporting country or by an authorized body of the Republic of Abkhazia in accordance with the criteria for determining the country of origin, provided by the RA Law on January 10, 2001, number 610-to-XIII «On customs tariff».

In this case, Under the decree, restrictions on the goods specified list does not apply to goods imported for personal use to the extent permitted by the laws of the Republic of Abkhazia.

The control over the execution of the order is assigned to the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Abkhazia Shamil Adzynba and Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Serikov.


The list of certain goods manufactured in the Republic of Turkey in respect of which set time limits on the import of the Republic of Abkhazia, includes the following products: 

live fish, fresh or chilled, frozen, fish fillets and other fish meat (minced), fresh chilled or frozen; Fish, dried, salted or in brine, hot- or cold-smoked fish meal, powder and pellets fit for human consumption; Potatoes, fresh or chilled; Tomatoes, fresh or chilled; onions, shallots (Charlotte), leeks, garlic and other alliaceous vegetables, fresh or chilled; Cabbages, cauliflower, kale and similar edible genus Brassica, fresh or chilled; cucumbers and gherkins, fresh or chilled; Citrus fruit, fresh or dried; fresh grapes; Melons (including watermelons) and papayas, fresh; Apples, pears and quinces, fresh; apricots, cherries, peaches (including nectarines), plums and losses, fresh.
