There was held a meeting with representatives of the Interdepartmental Operational Headquarters for Protection of Population of Abkhazia from Coronavirus Infection in the Cabinet of Ministers.
Sukhum. March 11. Apsnypress. Acting President, Prime Minister Valery Bganba held a meeting with representatives of Interagency Operational Headquarters to protect the population of the Republic of Abkhazia from coronavirus infection caused by 2019-nCoV.
Minister of Health and Welfare Tamaz Tsakhnakiya reported on the work of headquarters, on tactics for managing patients with symptoms similar to those of coronavirus infection: “In case of similar symptoms, patients will undergo express and PCR diagnostics for detection of influenza A and B viruses. In case the flu not confirmed, and the symptoms are increasing, according to approved protocol for management of such patients, the material is accordingly sent to reference laboratory of Stavropol. However, there haven’t been such patients to date. ”
According to Tsakhnakiya, rapid tests for diagnosis of coronavirus infection will arrive in Abkhazia on March 19.
Bganba discussed with heads of relevant departments measures to prevent penetration of the virus into the territory of Abkhazia and gave relevant instructions. In particular, it was instructed the relevant authorities to take measures to close the state border on the Ingur River from March 14, 2020. The order of the acting President, indicating duration of the full restriction on crossing the Abkhaz-Georgian border, will be published today, March 11.
The interdepartmental headquarters, together with Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was instructed to recommend residents of Abkhazia to not leave the country, especially to countries where cases of coronavirus infection have been reported. The headquarters is recommended to review the list of drugs subject to state reserve of medicines and medical devices to provide medical institutions in the country.
