Meeting of Daur Kove with Vitaly Ignatiev was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR

<b>Sukhum. June 29. Apsnypress. </b> The Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Abkhazia in PMR Alexander Vataman and the Assistant to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia Irakli Tuzhba took part in the meeting.

Abkhazian Foreign Minister Daur Kove said: "Transnistria is not just a country on the map for me. I have many memories connected to Tiraspol, many of my friends live here. I am glad that on the eve of the celebration of anniversary of the Foreign Ministry we are here and we have an opportunity to share this great event with you, "said Kove.
 
For his part, Vitaly Ignatyev expressed his gratitude to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia for visiting the republic on the eve of the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR. "This is a significant event for the entire collective of the foreign policy department and the country as a whole. I am glad that the high delegation of the fraternal Republic of Abkhazia is visiting us, " - Vitaly Ignatyev said.

During the meeting, the parties discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation. Particular attention was paid to the ongoing process of drafting an updated Treaty on Friendship and Cooperation between Transnistria and Republic of Abkhazia, as well as strengthening interdepartmental relations in various areas. In particular they discussed the possibility of organizing consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries.
 
In addition, the meeting exchanged views on possible mechanisms for increasing trade and economic cooperation between the sister republics. Vitaly Ignatiev invited representatives of Abkhazia to participate in the Transnistrian international economic forum, which will be held in Tiraspol on July 6-8, 2017.

The PMR Foreign Minister also informed his Abkhaz colleagues about the current situation in the negotiation process between Transnistria and the Republic of Moldova. According to Vitaly Ignatiev, the Moldovan side actually continues to apply the tactics of unilateral restrictive measures with regard to the PMR.
 
At the end of the meeting, the interlocutors agreed to conduct a substantive analysis of the initiatives voiced during the discussion to strengthen the interaction of the two countries in various fields.

Within the framework of the visit to Transnistria, the delegation of the Republic of Abkhazia will participate in the meeting of the expanded reporting collegium of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR, timed to the 25th anniversary of the formation of the foreign policy department.
