Meeting of Raul Khadjimba with the members of the Government and the National Assembly (Parliament) of the Karachay-Cherkessia

Sukhum. April 28. Apsnypress. President of the Republic of Abkhazia Raul Khadjimba met with the members of the Government and the People's Assembly (Parliament) of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic, the official website of the President of the Republic of Abkhazia. 

The meeting was attended by the Secretary of the Security Council  Mohamed Kilba, Secretary General of the World Congress of the Abkhaz-Abaza people Gennadiy Alamiya, President of the National Olympic Committee Valeriy Arshba and Hrips Jopua. 

Opening the meeting, the Head of KCR Rashid Temrezov again thanked Raul Khadjimba for the visit. "Historically, Karachay-Cherkessia and Abkhazia are nearest neighbors, and the relationship between our peoples is several centuries old. We hope for our further fruitful development. In your face, let me wish all the people of Abkhazia peace, happiness and prosperity", - said Rashid Temrezov. He added that the people of Karachay-Cherkessia proud of the countrymen volunteers who represented the multinational people of the republic during the War of  Abkhazia in 1992-1993. "Today, Abkhazia is a strategic partner of the Russian Federation. I am sure that the visit of the President of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Karachay-Cherkess Republic will give a boost to our relations and new content in previously adopted documents on cooperation", - said Rashid Temrezov. 

In his speech, Khadjimba said that in the history of the Abkhazian people were hard times, but the people of Abkhazia overcame them in particular due to the relationships that were developed between like-minded nations and of the North Caucasus. 

Khadjimba and Temrezov emphasized the community of economic priorities of the two republics, talked about the close cooperation in economic and humanitarian fields. As one of the most important areas of economic cooperation considering the prospect of construction of traffic artery connecting Abkhazia and KCR.

 "Of course, we need active relations in different spheres of life of our republics. As for transportation, we have already talked with Rashid Temrezov that the ideas that were presented earlier about the new transportation hub, should be implemented. We discussed this issue with the Russian leadership and found support. Memorandum of understanding on this issue was signed in late 2010 and we must begin the first steps to implemention of the project ", - said Khadjimba. 

Khajimba was asked about the prospects of cooperation in the humanitarian and cultural spheres, in the field of youth policy. During the negotiations, was reached an agreement on the preparation of a new version of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Abkhazia and the Government of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic (Russian Federation) on trade, economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation taking into account the current realities and prospects for increasing cooperation between the parties.
