Memorandum of Cooperation between the State Standard of the Republic of Abkhazia and Rospatent

Sukhum. April 27. Apsnypress. During the meeting, delegation of the State Committee on standards consumer and Technical Supervision of the Republic of Abkhazia, (GosStandard) together with the representatives of the Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent) signed a memorandum of cooperation. 

The purpose of the Memorandum is a consolidation of common principles for cooperation of the parties, the exchange of information on legislation in the field of intellectual property, the exchange of information and experience in the field of expertise of applications for industrial property rights, joint seminars, round tables and conferences on the subject of cooperation between the parties, regular meetings of the heads of the parties, the organization and training of specialists in the field of intellectual property, the exchange of official publications and other areas of cooperation. 

The parties discussed the possibility of applying for registration in Rospatent such trademarks as "Abkhaz adjika" and "Abkhaz mandarins". In a number of events to celebrate the Day of Intellectual Property, the Abkhaz delegation participated in the scientific-practical conference "Intellectual Property and Innovation Potential of Russia".   The deputy chairman of the State Standard of the Republic of Abkhazia Nataliya Kvaratskheliya (Shokhina) made a report on "National brands of Abkhazia".
