Abkhazia intends to increase the supply of citrus in Russia, said Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Khloponin at the end of the meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission.
Sukhum. December 23. Apsnypress. Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Khloponin believes that Abkhazia is fully able to replace Turkish mandarins by its supplies on the Russian market, this he told reporters.
" It is not just possible, we will replace them anyway" - he said after a meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission between Russia and Abkhazia.
For his part, Prime Minister of Abkhazia Arthur Mikvabia stressed that Abkhazia intends to increase the supply of citrus in Russia.
"Now we have a citrus production to 50 thousand tons. We supply in Russia all that we have. We hope that this figure will continue to grow ", - he said.
At the same time Mikvabia expressed doubt that Abkhazia will be able to replace the supply of Turkish mandarins. "There are no enough Abkhaz tangerines, but we will do our best. "This year we supply about 40 thousand tons. In total we produce 50 thousand tons and reserve a part for domestic consumption, next year , I think we get a figure more than 50 thousand tons, because those plantations, which are incorporated, are beginning to bear fruits", - said Prime Minister of Abkhazia.
