Prime Minister of Abkhazia Artur Mikvabiya informed about the interest of Abkhazia in establishing sea links with Crimea.
Sukhum. April 18. Apsnypress. Prime Minister of the Republic of Abkhazia Artur Mikvabiya offered to resume cruises to the Crimean coast with stops in Abkhazia. According to him, this maritime traffic existed in the Soviet era, now it may be of interest not only to those who are nostalgic for the past, but also the youth. The initiative was supported by the leadership of Crimea.
"There may be very interesting forms of mutually beneficial cooperation. One can come to rest in Crimea, and then in Abkhazia. Or vice versa. Mutually beneficial tourism is real. It would be good to use mainly marine mode of transportation. We talked with the leadership of Crimea on the matter, and Oleg Belavenetsev (presidential envoy in CFD) said that he would support the revival of marine tours", - said Mikvabiya on Radio "Sputnik in Crimea".
The Prime Minister also confirmed the ability to run between Abkhazia and the Crimea ferry "Varyag", which previously went from Sevastopol to the Turkish port of Zonguldak. At the same time, according to Mikvabiya, talk about the timing of the launch of the ferry is premature, as the issue requires a detailed study. "This is a commercial project, so it is necessary to study it properly. We would like it to be implemented, we have an interest in this. Also we talked with the Crimean government on vacations of children here ", - said Mikvabiya.
