RA MFA commented on the sanctions of Ukraine.
Sukhum. 21 March. Apsnypress. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia commented on the introduction of sanctions by Ukraine against a number of citizens of the Republic of Abkhazia.
The comment says:
“The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine imposed sanctions on legal entities and individuals, there is a number of citizens of the Republic of Abkhazia who participated as observers at elections in the Donbas among them. Restrictive measures include blocking assets, preventing the withdrawal of capital outside Ukraine, refusing to grant and abolishing visas to residents of foreign countries and applying other restrictions on entry into the territory of Ukraine.
In this regard, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia considers it necessary to note the following. The elections held on November 11, 2018 in the DPR and LPR, which were attended by observers, including citizens of the Republic of Abkhazia, do not conflict with the Minsk agreements. Therefore, Kiev’s decision to impose these restrictive measures is puzzling. Even if Kiev authorities do not consider it necessary to recognize the elections in the Donbass, such sanctions pressure is clearly a disproportionate measure of influence, and cannot be justified.
Obviously, concerned about the outcome of the upcoming presidential elections, the Ukrainian authorities are trying by any means to earn political dividends and improve their rating, not at all caring about the will of the residents of Donbass or their socio-economic situation.
It should be noted that 50 representatives of 14 countries of the world participated as international election observers. According to the voting results, there were stated that no violations. "
