Sukhum. July 3. Apsnypress. "Today, in our professional holiday we have come here to honor those who died in the War of Abkhazia, our colleagues, and unveiled a monument in their honor. They gave their lives for the future of the country, and we should remember their exploits and names", - said head of UGAI of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Abkhazia Nugzar Shoua in his opening speech.
The opening ceremony was attended by Vice-President Vitaly Gabniya, First Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Adzynba, Interior Minister Beslan Khagba, Interior Ministry officials, veterans of the War 1992 - 93, MPs, relatives and friends of the victims.
The monument commemorates the names of R. Vouba, V. Shersheliya, Kvitsinia L., G. Amichba, V. Akirtaa, A. Akaba, A. Briukhovetskiy, Jopua V., N. Jopua, V. Kakalia, Kvitsinia A. and B. Cherkezia. Two employees of traffic police were killed in Abkhazia during the War of Abkhazia, ten - on duty in the post-war years.
