New era in relations between the two countries - the deepening of the integration between Russia and Abkhazia - Semyon Grigoriev

Sukhum. August 21. Apsnypress. The roundtable was organized by the Coordination Council of Russian Communities of Russian compatriots in Abkhazia with the assistance of the Embassy of the Russian Federation, Rossotrudnichestvo and the House of Moscow. 

According to Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation in Abkhazia Semyon Grigoriev, addressed to the participants, Coordination Council of Russian Communities of Russian compatriots in Abkhazia caused a wide public response. Around the round table brought together representatives of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Abkhazia, Abkhaz Cabinet of Ministers, parliamentarians, scientists and public figures, intellectuals, church hierarchs of the Abkhazian Orthodox Church. The ambassador outlined the subject: "On this site we will be able to exchange views on what value was in the history of Abkhazia and Russia this date - 26 of August - Day of Russian recognition of Abkhazia".    

Semyon Grigoriev said: "Seven years is a short time. It come a long way, the relationship between the two countries have gone through different stages, and now started a completely new - the deepening of the integration between Russia and Abkhazia, last year's performance of the Treaty on the alliance and strategic partnership". He also proposed to discuss the issue that there seven years, has been repeatedly raised in various scientific symposiums: "Can we say that by the recognition of independence of the Republic of Abkhazia the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict has been fully resolved or, as it is considered in the West, the peace process between Georgia and Abkhazia is alive and growing. This is evidenced, in particular, by the various events organized under the mediation and the assistance of the European Union, where everywhere is a question of the Georgian-Abkhaz peace process and the role of various countries and organizations in this process, such as EU, United Kingdom, Germany ". 

For his part, First Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Adzynba said: "Given that we have won in the heavy, brutal war, every day, every month and year the political leadership of the country led the fight for the state to be or not to be. As it turned out, only by the results of the war, the question was not determined. It was August 26, it was removed, as well as the problem of external security. Now the development of Abkhazia is in the hands of our society".

The roundtable participants discussed the historical aspects of the relationship of Abkhazia, Russia and Georgia, expressed opinions on a wide range of humanitarian challenges of RA.
