Parents' committees will be banned to collect "unreasonably large funds" for proms

In the order of the Ministry of Education states that "due to numerous appeals of the parents of graduates" it is necessary "to prohibit the collection of unduly large funds to purchase gifts and holding numerous lavish banquets". Although, as noted by the Deputy Minister, some parents disagree with the ministry and said: "They are our children and we will organize everything as we can. So, why should you indicate us?".

Thus, Medea Chengelia stressed that there were not written statements with complaints from parents, but there are a lot of discussions of the problem. Therefore, the position of the Ministry of Education and Science will be clearly defined and communicated to the managements of the schools in the relevant operational meetings. Already pedagogical collectives should hold explanatory work among parents' committees, who can verify the situation. "We need to streamline the organization of the proms", - said the deputy minister.
