The People's Assembly of Parliament of Abkhazia held a meeting.
Sukhum. January 22. Apsnypress. The deputies of the National Assembly of Parliament of Abkhazia discussed the current socio-political situation in the country.
Opening the meeting, speaker Valery Kvarchiya announced that acting President is under pressure: “On January 18, we held a closed deputy meeting. We agreed that those officials who resign at their own request will be released, but we will wait until the election of a new President. Unfortunately, there are groups of people who walk around, leave letters demanding the release of an official and offer their candidacy, the acting President is under pressure. Why do we need to heat up the situation and who needs it ?! These questions concern many deputies and the people. If possible, let's calm down and prepare for the upcoming elections. ”
At the same time, Kvarchiya emphasized that several draft Addresses to the People were proposed for the current socio-political situation: “I believe that we should appeal to the people, to the parties, so that all together, by agreement, move confidently towards the elections and hold them at the proper level. We have a number of circulation projects. I urge you to give your opinion on the current situation. ”
For his part, MP Lasha Ashuba noted: “If you have any concerns about the Acting President, you can invite him and ask all your questions.”
The chairman of the parliamentary Committee on Defense and National Security, Ilya Guniya, also noted the importance of harmony and peace: “Our task, both of the Parliament and the executive branch, is to hold new elections in a calm atmosphere today. For this, first of all, it is necessary not to appoint anyone, there is no such need today.”
The content of the draft appeals to the people at the Parliament meeting was not announced. And after heated discussions, MP Alexander Ankvab tore the document.
In addition, an initiative group of residents of Pakuash village proposed to parliament a number of amendments to legislation regarding the status and working procedure of the deputy corps. However, the discussion of the initiative at the meeting did not begin. At the proposal of deputy Lasha Ashuba, the document should be preliminarily considered at the parliamentary hearings.
