Parliamentary Commission discussed issuing general passports to repatriates

The meeting of the Parliamentary Commission for checking the activities of the Passport and Visa Service of Abkhazia was held at the National Assembly of the Parliament of the Republic of Abkhazia.

 Opening the meeting, Commission Chairman Dmitry Dbar said that at the last meeting it was decided to obtain accurate data on the issuance of civilian passports to repatriates. “There was a question about the interaction between the Ministry of Repatriation and the Ministry of the Interior in order to speed up the process,” - Dbar said.
 
 Thus, according to Minister of Repatriation of the Republic of Abkhazia Beslan Dbar, from 2016 to the present the total number of documents prepared by the Ministry and submitted for obtaining an Abkhaz passport is 1203. “The procedure is as follows: people come to us, we register them, we prepare a package of documents and send to the Passport and Visa Service ", - stressed Dbar.
 
Further, representatives of the Commission proceeded to discuss specific examples of violations in the work of the Passport and Visa Service.
