In connection with the adoption by the Verkhovna Rada the Law "On the condemnation of the Communist and National Socialist (Nazi) totalitarian regimes in Ukraine and banning promotion of their symbolism".

The statement addressed to Peter Poroshenko, adopted by the Executive Committee of the Political Council of the Communist Party of Abkhazia, said: "We do not understand how it is possible to ban the activities of the Communist Party of Ukraine, equalizing the communist ideology with Nazism, banning communist symbols. We hope for a revision of the unfair treatment of the Communist Party of Ukraine, because it is a true expression of the interests of the working people".
