President: all borrowers should be aware that public money must be returned

President Raul Khadjimba held a meeting on the problems of the banking system.

Sukhum. March 29. Apsnypress. The meeting discussed issues of security for the repayment of loans granted by banks and liquidation of existing debt borrowers, as well as the situation in the Gagra-Bank.
 
 The president finds it unacceptable that the fault of malicious defaulters of loans affected the banking system. "The main operating funds of commercial banks are primarily public funds. When unscrupulous borrowers do not repay loans, suffer not only commercial banks but also the National Bank, which has provided refinancing. A critical situation has arisen in Gagra-Bank in this regard, also with great difficulties faced the SberBank", - said the President.  
 
Raul Khadjimba said that despite the positive trend of last year, when for the first time in many years we managed borrowers to pay more than 600 million rubles for loans, it is necessary to take further tough measures aimed at ensuring compliance with the loan agreements and loan repayment.
 
 Chairman of the National Bank Beslan Barateliya informed the President on the situation in the banking system, on the measures taken to ensure the return of credit funds, while stressed that without the support of law enforcement and enforcement of judgments of Abkhazia National Bank will not be able to solve many problems on its own.
 
 Head of the Administration of Gagra district Beslan Bartsits expressed concern on the fact that budget funds placed by the Administration of the Gagra district in the bank had been repeatedly delayed by it, which led to a shift in the terms of payment of wages in the public sector. The President firmly pointed to the inadmissibility of such actions on the part of Gagra-Bank.
 
 Chairman of the Board of Gagra-Bank Astamur Argun reported to the meeting on the complex situation in the bank, caused by non-return of borrowers a significant volume of credit. He noted that to date, the amount of bad loans to Gagra-Ban is up to 600 million rubles.
 
 The President instructed the Attorney General to take under special control the investigation into the non-return of large and very large loans. "All borrowers should be aware that public money must be returned. And they will be returned whatever the cost", - said Raul Khadjimba.
 
 National Bank jointly with the Gagra-Bank is in charge within a month to develop and approve a plan of financial recovery of Gagra-Bank and law enforcement agencies to take effective measures to comply with judicial decisions.
